Salary Packaging

Under the status of a public benevolent institution, Carinya Home supports staff to structure their incomes to reduce the gross taxable value, thereby decreasing tax and increasing take-home pay. In addition to competitive rates of pay, salary packaging (also known as salary sacrifice) ensures earnings are optimised.

Learning and Development

We acknowledge that career development is linked to personal job satisfaction, workplace productivity, reward, and recognition and is critical to the achievement of continuous improvement in the quality of its services. Through assistance schemes, staff are encouraged to undertake education and training activities related to their employment in order to improve their personal and professional development.

Immunisation Program

Outbreaks of Influenza and COVID-19 of varying severity occur every year, predominately in the cooler months. As a way to further protect our residents, it is a requirement for all staff members to have a minimum of three COVID-19 vaccinations, and a yearly Influenza vaccination. Carinya Home provided staff with assessment, screening, and vaccination yearly for Influenza and other specified infectious diseases as required.

Employee Assistance Program

Staff are provided with the opportunity to seek confidential and independent assistance from qualified and experienced counsellors when faced with problems of a work or personal nature. The Carinya Home EAP is available for all staff to help deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health, or well-being. The EAP provides opportunities for assessment, short-term counseling, and referral services at no cost to staff for up to three sessions. We strongly recommend that staff visit their doctor if more than three sessions are required.
