Carinya Home for the Aged is situated in Atherton on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands,
Queensland. We have a wonderful natural outlook taking in the lush rainforest surrounds of the area and are located within 1 ½ hour’s drive from Cairns.
The Tablelands rise from 500-1100 metres above sea level, and it is this altitudinal variation which gives the Tablelands its cool tropical climate, some say the best climate in the world! There is a marked difference between seasons and between areas, from high rainfall mountains of the coastal ranges in the east, green dairy country to the south, and open savannah woodland to the west.
Atherton Tablelands is home to approximately 26,000 people.
Carinya Home provides residential aged care services and independent living accommodation and has provided high quality residential care to the Atherton Tablelands districts since 1977. We are a community based non-profit organisation that has set the standard and developed an excellent model for services attuned to the special needs of residents.
