06/10 COVID-19 UPDATE

Hello Carinya Community
The Qld Government has issued the latest Aged Care Direction #11.

There are three changes from earlier versions to Visitors to our Home and also Residents being able to leave for the attached reasons.

Changes include:

1) an increase in the number of people attending family gatherings is now 30 people. Please note there is no change to the reasons a resident can leave Carinya.
2) People visiting residents from an approved NSW postcode will not be required to quarantine for 14 days. Providing the visitor(s) have had an influenza vaccination they can visit.
3) further updating of workforce management processes.

The link at the bottom provides detailed information on Aged Care Direction #11.

In regards to our ongoing preparations for any outbreak, planning continues with Atherton District Hospital, Tropical Public Health and our Doctors at the various medical centres.

We continue to fine tune our plans using learnings from other providers and changes required by the State and Federal Governments.

Carinya maintains a supply of PPE that is considered sufficient for the first days of an outbreak until supplies are received from the National Stockpile.

We are expecting an Infection Control spot audit by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission as they check the preparedness of all aged care providers in Australia.

Thank you again for maintaining connections with your loved ones – this is appreciated.

Regards
Robyn Brady
Director of Care
