Lockdown at Carinya – Respiratory Infections

To all,

There has been a number of respiratory cases reported by residents and staff this week.

This is not COVID 19 illness, but our usual seasonal flu type illness.

All areas are impacted across Carinya.
Jim Chapman Lodge, Enid Collins Lodge and Kevin Wadley Lodge.

Queensland Tropical Public Health has been notified and they have advised to lock the facility down.

It is critical we maintain infection control procedures and increase our cleaning regimes, isolation practices and limit movement between areas wherever possible.

• Effective immediately there is no visiting & no residents to leave the facility.
• Residents with confirmed or suspected cases, pending results, are isolated in their rooms.
• All residents will remain within their own wings.

Once we have received clearance from Queensland Tropical Public Health we will advise all concerned.

Kind Regards
Robyn Brady
Director of Care
